Archival Pieces Beaver Lake pg 1
Item: FP562    *NEW*
Description: Very Nice THIN Beaver Lake - This nice Beaver Lake has very nice flaking and is THIN, THIN, THIN!  It has decent symmetry.  It was out of a Middle Tennessee collection.  It is made of highly patinated and pitted Hornstone.  There is an old ding to base that shows a patination change, but it has deposits over that change.  The tip has a similar place, with less deposits.  Since the tip has at least three small flakes in a row, I am selling this one as minor tip rechipped!  A very nice point at a bargain price!

Description:  BIG Beaver Lake / Un-fluted Cumberland - This nice Paleo hails from Missouri.  The chert is fossilifferous, but I am not sure exactly what it is.  It is cream in color.  When I first saw this piece it had a Berner paper on it, which had missed a small bit of restoration on the side of the base.  This restoration has now been removed and papered by Tom Davis.  Tom graded it a G-8 and called it only "cream chert".  It is a fine Paleo example of the type whether you call it a Beaver Lake, or an "un-fluted Cumberland".  A nice piece at a reasonable price!  Ex - John Berner, Ex- D Travis
