- Description: Beautiful Sonora Chert Hopewell - This Fantastic Hopewell blade is made of highly collectible Sonora Chert. It has a nice tip and well made base. It is thin and has nice flaking. It has excellent symmetry and form. This piece is from the collection of Mr. Chan Strader of Athens, Kentucky. Chan dug, surface hunted, and collected artifacts all around the Central Kentucky area. Mr. Strader passed away over 20 years ago and left his collection to his cousin, Bobby Dodd, who donated the major portion to the University of Kentucky. Bobby's wife gave away a case of pieces that he had kept to a family friend. Only these few items of this collection remain available to collectors. Ex- Bill Harper
