- Item: FA1656
- Description: Fossilifferous Chert
Pontchartrain Type 1 - This nice stemmed point was found in Bourbon
County, KY in 2013. It has a tiny ancient burin on one side of the
tip. It is made of a fossilifferous Chert that is most likely
Boyle. Some might call it an Adena, and it would display well in
an Adena Frame but because of the flaking and one shoulder being
slightly higher than the other I am typing it as a Pontchartrain Type I.
It has nice symmetry and flaking. Ex- M. Wasson, Ex- Monty

- Description: Flint Ridge Pontchartrain Type 1 - This is a GREAT piece. I believe this material to be a colorful Flint Ridge. This piece was found in Ohio. I purchased this piece at Jim Bennett's auction in Fort Mitchell, KY in Dec. 2007. It has great symmetry and flaking. There is an ancient impact to the tip that was then anciently re-worked. This is a beautiful piece that displays well. Ex- Monty Pennington
