Description: Beautiful Fort Dover Rankin - Here is a Super Rankin that is made from a variety of Dover I like to call "Fort Dover" that is highly patinated.  It has a NEEDLE TIP and symmetrical sides that end in well shaped ears at level with the base.  The base is well shaped and slightly concave.  This is a super piece.  It was found in Simpson County, Kentucky.

Description: Outstanding Two-Tone Breathitt Chert Rankin - This SUPERB EXAMPLE was a Rock Shelter find in Simpson County, Kentucky.  It has an extended tip and long sides that end in well shaped ears at base level.  It is covered in deposits!  It is made from a beautiful Two-Tone piece of Breathitt Chert.

Description: Knox Chert Rankin - Here is a Very Nice Rankin with a needle tip and nice big ears that reach the base.  It is made of high grade Translucent Knox Chert.  All the pieces from this collection were found in McCreary County, Kentucky either off Peel Dog Wood Road, in Forgotten Valley, Indian Creek, or Bear Wallow.  All of these are within 5 miles of the Cumberland River.  Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

Description: Harrodsburg Chert Rankin with "bulls-eye" - Here is a Super Rankin from Simpson County, Kentucky that has a colorful "Bulls-Eye" in the center!  It is made of fossilifferous Harrodsburg Chert.  It is thin and well made.  It has a needle tip and nice ears extending well towards the base!  It has great symmetry and shape.  Some may consider this a buck Creek, my call because of the ears is Rankin

Description: Beautiful Dover Buck Creek / Rankin - This Outstanding Piece starts out with a very nice tip and has blade edges that roll out and then because of re-sharpenings extend almost parallel down 2/3d's of the length before flaring out into very well made ears that almost reach the base.  Both blade edges are very finely serrated.  It is made of highly patinated striped Dover Chert!  It is thin and has Great Flaking and near Perfect symmetry!  It was recovered from a Rock Shelter in Simpson County, Kentucky
