- Description: Super Thin and Beautiful Wheeler - This fine Paleo is very thin and well flaked! It was
found in Middle Tennessee. It is made of highly patinated Dover
Chert. Some would call it a Quad, some maybe an Unfluted
Cumberland, some would call it a Beaver Lake, I think it's a Wheeler. It has decent
symmetry and nice size!

curve in back to the base which has a nice Auriculate form! It is made
of highly patinated Hornstone! It was reported to be from Middle

Description: Quad or Wheeler Expanded Base -
This Fine Paleo is made of a banded material. May be Fort Dover
(Fort Payne), may be
some type of petrified wood. Has a bit of rind on one face.
Super Flaked. Nice symmetry. Long ears off an Auriculate
base. Tom Davis typed this as a Hardaway Dalton, you decide. Found in
East Tennessee. Ex- Monty & Jewdy Pennington

- Description: Big Kentucky Wheeler Recurvate - This
nice Wheeler was found in Central Kentucky and is made of a cream
colored Fossilifferous Chert that is probably either from the Boyle or
Harrodsburg outcroppings. It has a nice Auriculate base with
recurving ears. It was found in Powell County, Kentucky. Ex-
Tom Davis.

TRANSLUCENT
Description: Translucent Knox Chert Mini with a
Flute - I am not sure what to call this little guy. It is made
from Translucent Knox Chert. It is Very Thin and
well made. One side has a basal thinning strike that
terminates "flute like". The base and about 3/16" up
on each side from the base is lightly ground! It is a
beautiful piece, so I will let you call it what you want. Ex-
Monty & Jewdy Pennington.

Super Flaked Quad or Wheeler Expanded Base. I lean towards Wheeler
on this one, but you can make the call. Found in Kentucky, it is
probably very higly patinated Fort Payne. Very Fine flaking.
Very Nice Symmetry. Nice wide expanded ears off an Auriculate
base. Had very old Collectors tape denoting "A309"

Description: TN Wheeler Excurvate: Here is a beautiful little Wheeler made of what I believe to be the Tennessee outcropping of Tyrone Chert, but it could be a Hornstone. It was found in Hardin County, TN. The last 1/4 inch of the ears and bottom are ground. This Wheeler has great symmetry and shape with a nice tip. It has a wide thinning strike or flute from the apex of the auriculate base 1/2 way up on one side and about 1/3 rd up the other side of the piece. (see photos). A very nice transitional Paleo piece from Hardin County, TN. Ex - Monty Pennington

Description: KY Wheeler Excurvate: Here is a beautiful little Wheeler made of Knox Chert. The last 1/8 inch and bottom of the longer ear is lightly ground. This Wheeler is very thin and translucent. It has a thinning strike or flute from the apex of the apex of the deep auriculate base 2/3 rds up the piece. (see photos). A very nice transitional Paleo piece from Estill County, KY.
